We live in one of the most transformative times of human history and it will be wrong of us if we do not embrace these advancements in the transport and logistics. As one of the global industries that rely on moving systems, the ability of stakeholders staying abreast with the small and big picture is critical to organizational success, and this is where IT comes in.
From a myopic perspective, IT is a function, however I see it as an enabler, an empowerment tool, an industry democratizer and your eyes on the entire operations. These adjectives and more mean the role of IT needs to be rethought from technical to strategic and operational and the IT strategy be embedded into the overall business strategy.
this is because when people think about transport and logistics, they often picture trucks, warehouses and goods moving from one place to another. I see something different. I see technology. I see systems. I see data. Increasingly, I see a future where technology determines how efficiently and safely the industry operates.
Today I am here not only to understand how technology is applied in real-world environments and how digital solutions can solve industry challenges, but to take part in crafting and coding these solutions.
My long-term ambition is to continue my education in IT and eventually contribute to creating safer, smarter and more efficient systems within transport and logistics. I want to be part of the generation that helps modernize the industry while making technology more accessible and useful for the people who depend on it every day.
Most importantly, I hope to become an example for other young women interested in technology. Representation matters, especially in technical fields where women are still finding their footing. If my journey encourages another girl to pursue ICT, engineering or cybersecurity, then my impact will extend beyond any system I help build.
Technology will shape the future of transport and logistics. I hope to be one of the women helping design that future.
