This is not my first rodeo, I tested my mettle in Del Monte in the packaging and logistics department; a priceless and eye opening experience. What excites me about logistics is the number of moving parts that must synchronized for a delivery to be successful. Herein though lies the problem, these parts rarely move as they should, and more than often the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.
In this day of advanced technology and AI, every touchpoint in the supply chain flow gives information, and we now have the tools to analyze this data and translate it into solutions and efficiency. This is where my passion lies, beyond just moving things, I want to understand how systems work, where challenges exist, and how they can be improved.
The opportunity to gain practical experience is one of the main reasons I joined the program. I want to learn from professionals, understand the realities of the industry and develop the confidence that comes from exposure and experience. At the same time, I hope to build relationships and networks that will support my growth long after the internship ends.
Looking ahead, I hope to be able to translate industry data into solutions that deliver efficiency and effectiveness and also demonstrate that women can thrive in logistics, not as exceptions but as leaders, innovators and decision-makers.
For me, success will not simply be measured by the position I hold. It will be measured by the opportunities I create, the people I support and the impact I leave behind.
